LARRY & BETTY PEDDLE, Location Scouts

Besides being director Daniel Peddle’s parents, Larry and Betty Peddle own and operate Silas Ridge, a contracting firm which overlooks the handling of projects in the Triad area of North Carolina. Their main focus, however, are their three children and four grandchildren who they tirelessly dote on. Larry and Betty’s aim of making ‘Something Out of Nothing’ along with their creative lifestyle has produced countless projects during their forty-eight year marriage.

For Moss, Larry & Betty found and secured the amazing locations seen in the film.

EMILY ROSE, Make Up & Hair Artist

Emily Rose is a North Carolina based makeup artist who specializes in high definition and glamour face art. This self-taught makeup artist has been professionally practicing her craft for seven years. While filming Moss, Emily embraced the task of creating her first special effects makeup for scarification in freezing cold weather conditions. Otherwise she was smearing star Mitchell Slaggert down with mud and keeping his on-screen love interest, Christine Marzano, properly disheveled for her role as a hiker.

VLAD GOLOSIY, Graphic Designer

Vlad Golosiy originally from Ukraine now lives and works in NYC. Vlad has been a long-time collaborator with artist Daniel Peddle, working with him in many capacities from designing movie posters and event invitations, to creating websites and presentations. For all of Daniel’s films, Vlad is involved at the earliest inception of concepts creating initial mood boards and pre-production decks that inform all aspects of the film’s final look. Once the film is complete, Vlad oversees key art production and manages all visual packaging and web content, assuring brand consistency from start to finish. Vlad is also an essential member of The Secret Gallery team, Daniel’s casting company with partner Drew Dasent.

Vlad’s own personal artwork integrates typography, photography and design to create striking images both socially relevant and politically charged. Fully aware of the influence of the visual to both document and narrate, Vlad believes in the power of art to affect change.

JEFF PHILEMON, Master Carpenter

Jeff Philemon is a Wilmington, NC native. He grew up “sound surfing” at Myrtle Grove and honing his carpentry skills. He has over 50 years of building experience and can still crawl all over a roof at 61 years young. His high-school buddy, Captain Shaw, introduced Jeff to filmmaker Daniel Peddle while scouting locations. Jeff’s homestead became the main location for the film. With its adjacent swampland, wooded surrounds and incredible workshed, Jeff’s place added the perfect authentic vibe for Moss and his Dad’s home. This was an amazing contribution to Moss but the real gold was Jeff himself! Besides building Blaze’s magical floating rafthouse, Jeff worked on all the sets and many of the props. Likely it was Jeff’s name most hollered by the director through the shoot. From forest to the beach, Jeff was always by Daniel’s side with a screwdriver in hand like some kind of magic wand. No task was too small or too big for him. Jeff became a central part of the Moss family and his quiet methodical ways impressed everyone so lucky to witness him work.

When not working with children, she enjoys traveling, painting, and getting involved in creative endeavors. Her brother, Daniel Peddle, roped her into working on his first narrative feature Sunset Edge as Production Designer and of course she could not turn down the opportunity to join the Moss team. Her visual instinct and resourcefulness proved invaluable and her natural talents for design are readily seen throughout the film.
